ACCELERATOR FIELDJ-PARC・iBNCT・KEK
J-PARC Accelerator Facility [Tokai Site]
J-PARC, the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex, was established as a joint project between the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). It consists of a proton accelerator facility that generates the world’s highest-power proton beam, along with neutron, muon, neutrino, and hadron experimental facilities. These experimental facilities serve as international research hubs, welcoming researchers and companies from both domestic and international communities. They are engaged in a wide range of research and development activities, from fundamental science to industrial applications. We provide technical support for various tasks ranging from accelerator operation to experimental assistance at these facilities.]
iBNCT001 Facility [Tsukuba Business Division]
The radiotherapy device (iBNCT001) at Tsukuba University Hospital consists of a proton beam accelerator, a proton beam transport device that guides the accelerated proton beam into the irradiation room, and a neutron generation device that adjusts neutrons to appropriate energies for treatment and irradiates patients. We operate these devices, generate stable neutrons, and provide technical support for tasks such as destroying cancer cells by reacting boron drugs taken up by cancer cells.
